Tips for Naturally Healthy Living

One of the most important steps in living a naturally healthy lifestyle is insuring your good health. The stronger you are, the healthier you are, the better the body is able to respond to stresses associated with modern living that you can not avoid. While there are health issues we can not avoid, we can maintain our bodies in optimum good health and fitness.

Achieving optimum health and fitness, allows more of our physical resources the freedom to fight things that interfere or weaken the immune system including viruses, bacteria and germs.

One of the most dramatic changes you can make in your efforts to achieve your best health and your optimum fitness level is to eliminate stress from your life. Stress not only kills, it will age you dramatically. Many Stomach, bowel, digestive problems, headaches, migraines, skin conditions, and other illnesses are caused or aggravated by external stress.

Proper rest is required by the body to heal itself. When you sleep, your body views this as an opportunity to go to work internally. It is important to maintain a regular sleep cycle so that your body has a chance to repair itself from the rigors of day to day living.

Eat regularly scheduled balanced meals based on a whole foods diet that includes meat, natural fats, fish, vegetables, and fruits, avoiding fast food, restaurants and convenience foods. Do not over indulge in any particular food.

Avoid salt, sugar and processed foods and preservatives and additives. If you can't read it, or don't know what it is, DO NOT EAT IT. Avoid anything that comes in a 'prepackaged box or carton' or can if and when you can.

READ LABELS - compare ingredients, when you must choose between two products that aren't exactly good for you, make your decision based upon the numbers and figures on the label. Get the healthier of the two. DO NOT BELIEVE the BIG WRITING ON LABELS. The word healthy or the words low fat, high carbs, etc..... mean little when they are in the title.

Avoid the use of medicines or drugs, both over the counter and prescription ones. These chemicals are and should be utilized as a last resort when allowing nature to take it's course isn't working or herbal medicines and remedies can not be obtained.

Limit the consumption of alcohol.

Practice moderation in all areas of life. Extremes are harmful, this includes stress, work, food, and drink.

If you smoke, practice quitting. It gets easier with time. Moderation being the key. If you can not quit, cut down.

Do not pollute your system with illegal or illicit drugs. The long term side effects are undesirable.

Exercise, move your body. While the exercise doesn't have to be strenuous it does need to increase your heart rate and challenge your body to be effective. If you sit behind a desk for 8 hours a day or have a job that does not involve physical labor, you are going to need to increase the amount of exercise you get. Walking is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Practice safe and responsible sex always. It is preferable for the sake of your good health that you limit your partners to one. If you change partners frequently and or have had multiple partners in your lifetime, have yourself tested for STDS and HIV on a regular basis. Require mutual doctor visits from new long term partners and use a condom till your new partner is deemed safe and healthy.
